Coffeehouses Signing Off the WiFi Bandwagon [Article]

I just found this article on LA Times about a coffee shops starting to turn off their WiFi and opting to go back to just offering…coffee.

Apparently the reason is because though WiFi does attract a few customers, some of those customers begin to set up shop and stay for hours on end to glean the free WiFi.  They might buy a coffee, but they’re taking up room for other customers who just want a 10 minute break from the day.

Anyway, with McDonalds and Starbucks and B&N offering free WiFi, the smaller coffee shops don’t really need it…I go to smaller shops for a really spectacular cup of coffee, not to lounge around surfing the internet…I can do that in the comfort of my own home.  And the best part?  I can be in my undies!
