Aren’t these absolutely gorgeous? I have a soft spot for roses. Any kind. They’re just so precious!
And yes, these are real flowers. They start out as cream roses. Over the course of 12-24 hours, they turn rainbow-colored by putting a drop in food coloring in their water one at a time, and as the roses soak up the water, the petals take on the colors of the food dye. Apparently, they don’t know how to control what petals get what colors; that appears to be completely random. I would imagine you could do this at home, if you wanted!

ReplyDeletecool. I've heard of using one color to dye carnations but I've never heard of multiple colors on roses. Very neat.
