Epic Changes…Did You Notice?

I’ve made a few changes to my blog recently.  First and foremost, I have my own domain now! Instead of the annoying “cheapgeeksanonymous.blogspot.com”, my blog is now simply “http://cheapgeeksanonymous.com”.  Sweet, right?

The second change is that I now have really awesome Social Media icons! They were a free download; I didn’t make them myself, but I am going to be editing one to make an icon so you can subscribe to my e-mails by clicking on it.

But the awesome part is you can simply click the facebook lego to go to my facebook page, the twitter lego to go to my twitter page, etc!  It’s really freakin’ awesome!

The final change I’ve made is adding a Paypal Donation button to the sidebar.  Now, I want to make it clear that I’m not expecting any of you to give me money.  The reason I added it to the blog is that I’m starting to spend money to maintain my blog now, and frankly I don’t have a lot of extra money to do so.  Right now I’m saving up for a blog makeover!

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you like the changes that my blog has undergone! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

  1. I like it! I'm using your post on changing color codes tomorrow (and giving you credit, of course!) and I appreciate all your hard work. If I ever make any money on my blog I want a makeover too. I also want to change to my own domain but I am afraid it will mess up like all those people on Pitch It whose blog didn't show up for a week. Do you have to update your rss feed if you get your own domain or will it automatically change?

  2. Sweet, Chica! I love it! I was wondering when you were going to get around to doing this. Nice going! It looks amazing, as it always has.

  3. @Pam Cool! Thanks for giving me the heads up!
    I haven't had any problems since getting my domain. I purchased it directly through Blogger (aka Google), actually. It's only been a day since I bought it, though, so I guess something could go wrong. I have Blogger set to automatically redirect traffic from the .blogspot address, but I don't know if that applies to RSS feeds. We'll see, I guess!

    @Bambi thanks!

  4. Nice, and Nice. As a fellow blogger user I have to wonder, does the old blogspot address work? I'd rather not have half the links out there pointing ot a dead domain.

  5. @Andrew:
    Thanks for stopping by ^.^ As long as you set Blogger to reroute to your new domain, all the .blogspot links should still work. Also, I actually bought my domain through Blogger/Google, so everything went as smooth as a well-mixed milkshake.

  6. Great to know, since I'm going to want to ditch the blogspot domain when extra deneros become available I wouldn't feel guilty spending. I like your compromise between having background and an easy to read area for text to go.

    If it isn't already, this has been a busy week for me, your site's going on my blogroll.
