Awesome Superhero Figurine Collection

On October 26th, I went to a Halloween party at a friend's parents' house.  The party was great and all, but what I really want to talk about here is not the party, but a particular room in the house.  This room was by far the most amazing room I have ever been in.  No joke.

The room in question is a room that houses dozens of comic book superhero figurines, posters, and memorabilia.  It's a collection that's been in the works since the 1960's, when the owner was just a kid reading comic books.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see his collection of comic books, but I think I might have had an aneurism from the excitement of the whole thing if I'd seen the figurine collection and the comics collection.

So, without further ado, here are some pictures of the awesome collection that words cannot even begin to do justice.  (I apologize for the poor quality of some of the photos; I have a pretty old camera, and it couldn't decide what to focus on half the time.)

I personally love this one.  Not a lot of people collect Martian Manhunter figurines, and he's my favorite!

Honestly, these pictures don't do the place justice.  (Again, I apologize for the blurriness of some of them.)  Everywhere I looked, there were figurines and statues and posters and life-size cutouts.  Every time I looked into one of the cases, I noticed a new action figure that I hadn't before, or a different Batmobile, or a different comic book (of which there were just a few in these collector cases).  There were such collectible items as model Batmobiles from nearly every generation of Batman, the entire collection of Lantern rings (all of the colors), and almost every Alex Ross portrait of the Justice League members (including a group shot).

I hope that, one day, far into the future, I can have a collection that's half as good as this one.  (And, like I said, this is just the collectible figure stuff.  He has a collection of comic books, too, stashed away somewhere!)  This is what every fan should strive for, no matter the fandom they belong to.

Not only is this collection amazing, but it's a great source of pride for its owner.  He loves talking about his collection!  He's a man in his fifties, and the most amazing thing is to see his face light up when you ask him about his collection.  I hope I'm that excited about my fanaticism when I'm his age!

Harry Potter Proposal [Pic]

Harry Potter Proposal

I should just make a series of these, for geek guys and gals that need ideas proposing to their significant others.  Why do I say that?  Because I once posted a Munchkin Marriage Proposal, and mere days ago found a super-cute Pokémon Proposal.  Sheesh.  Geeks are seriously too romantic/creative.

A Superhero’s ABCs

Superhero ABCs

I love this.  So much.  Especially that “N” is Nightcrawler.

So, can you name all the superheroes used?!  If so, I’d love it if you list them in the comics.  Just to show off.  Look, I even gave you a freebie!

Pokemon Marriage Proposal

As far as geeky marriage proposals go, this one rivals the Munchkin Marriage Proposal I posted a while back.  I’m hoping I get proposed to in a creative fashion like this!

This “Binary” Table Scares the Crap Out of Me [Pic]

Binary Table from BRC Designs

It scares me because I happen to be somewhat clumsy.  Table made of motherboards, computer chips, led screens, and hard drives = lots of cuts for Flufferwuffer.

Still, upcycled and designed by BRC Designs, you have to admit the table is pretty damn awesome.

Not safe for geeklings or clumsy nerds like me, though!

A Strangely True Graph for Geeks [Pic]

A Graph for Geeks

I have to say, I’m a little sad that the person that made this graph left out “Tornadoes”.  Or “Mudslides”.  And those of us in Fargo have probably thought of Floods a little more…

But still pretty accurate!  Zombies keep me awake at night.

Pikachu Kitty

I honestly don’t know whether I should be saying “Awwwwwww!!!!” or banging my head against my desk.  I can’t deny that I found this utterly adorable when I first stumbled upon it.

Thor Vs. Jaws: Who Would Win? [Pic]

Thor Vs. Jaws

Amazing artwork by Greg Horn.  This is a variation for the comic book cover for Heroes for Hire #5, in anticipation of the Thor movie release.

So…who would win?

THIS Is Why North Dakota Rocks [Pics and Video]

So, a lot of states in the US that normally don’t get snow (or at least a lot of snow), have gotten snow, “snowstorms”, and the like.  All of us in North Dakota are laughing at you.  I’m sorry for being so blunt about it, but this is one of the reasons I love living in ND—I get pelted with both 100+ degree weather in the summer, and –50 degree weather in winter.  WE CAN TAKE ANYTHING.

Normal ND Winter

<—There is a F#*$ing three story building behind this snow pile.  BEAT THAT.

Not saying North Dakota is invincible.  If there’s a blizzard bad enough, the interstate will shut down.  This usually only happens once a winter, maybe.  Car accidents happen, of course…but not like this:

That is why those of us in North Dakota rock.  As a side note, the past few days it’s been a warm 30 degrees in ND.  Nearly everyone has ditched their winter coats and gloves for a sweatshirt.  Hurray for above zero weather!

Munchkin Marriage Proposal

Ring of Engagement

Now this is a way to propose to a girl.  Especially a girl like me (hint hint, BigJones!).  If you’ve never played Munchkin, not all of the text makes sense, but it’s still romantic nonetheless.  This card was homemade by someone to propose to his girlfriend.  CUTE!  And if you disagree, go away.  Really.  I don’t want you here.
